SPURS travel to Aston Villa on Saturday in the Premier League. Sam Ingram (@SamIngram_) shares his views from The Emirates.

Aston Villa’s last league victory over Spurs came back in 2008. With the momentum that carries Tottenham into this Saturday’s afternoon kick-off, it’ll take a brave bettor to side with a first win in 14 years.
Three losses on the spin for Gerrard’s men ensure that any signs of momentum have ground to a halt in the Midlands. Spurs’ visit will be Gerrard’s ninth fixture at Villa Park, with his new side winning just three on familiar turf since his arrival.
It has been a tough season against the bigger teams for Aston Villa. They have fallen short in all nine Premier League matches against the current top six. Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City are yet to play in the run-in, with the likeliest points haul coming today if anything.
It’s an area Gerrard will need to improve on next season specifically and work out how to become a greater thorn for the bigger sides.
At present, Spurs’ form rivals the best England has to offer. Only Liverpool and City (50) have amassed more points than Conte’s 39 since the Italian returned to London. With their North London rivals posing a nuisance in the race for the top four, another three points is a must at Villa Park.
Despite Spurs’ mightily impressive second half of the season, I’m wary of this dangerous Villa side. However, there is an Asian handicap that provides a level of comfort if wanting to get Tottenham on side.
At just shy of evens, the -0.25 Asian handicap provides a decent option. With this selection, we’ll receive half stake returns in the event of a draw.
I don’t think it’ll be easy for Spurs, but I envisage them having that bit extra, just as each of the top six have found against Aston Villa this season.
